Alzheimer Web in English
Published 14 February 2010
In short
- Alzheimer Web is written in Hungarian for families caring for a relative with dementia.
- We share practical, everyday advice and emotional support.
- We do not give medical advice. Diagnosis and treatment belong to doctors.
Alzheimer Web is a Hungarian-language website for family members who care for a parent, partner or sibling living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.
What you will find here
Most of our pages are in Hungarian. They cover the questions families face every day:
- what the first signs can look like, and why it is worth seeing a doctor early;
- how to keep a calm daily routine at home;
- how to talk with someone whose words are slipping away;
- how to make the home safer;
- how carers can look after their own strength;
- the basic legal and financial questions families meet in Hungary.
What we do not do
We are not a clinic and we do not give medical advice. Diagnosis, treatment and medication are always a matter for the person’s doctor. Our pages point families towards general practitioners, specialist services and local social care.
If you need help in Hungary
Start with the family doctor (háziorvos), who can refer to a specialist. Local social services (családsegítő szolgálat) can arrange home help and day care. In an emergency, call 112.
